Snippets on the eve of our departure

Tonight is our last night in Cape Town. We have had the most wonderful stay in South Africa: it has been breath-takingly beautiful, comfortingly familiar, heart-warmingly happy. We could not have asked for a better time to re-connect with our family and experience the best of what South Africa has to offer. *big sigh*. There are many heartaches in this land, but we have seen and felt none of them during our stay. It has been Utopian, and we are thankful. I'll post pictures when we get back to the US... but in the mean time, just wanted to say thanks to our friends and family here who have made it so special.

I am heart-sick sad about having to say goodbye to my Mom tomorrow.

I am still concerned about Teg and how she will fare with the travel, having been diagnosed with some lung trouble this weekend which we are currently lobbing vast quantities of antibiotics at.

I am curious about what this week will hold both for South African and American politics: our worlds on both fronts are about to experience significant political shifts!

I am tired of Teg struggling with sleep and looking forward to being at home where we can help her to settle into a routine again.

But over all, "my cup runneth over". My heart feels as satisfyingly and delightedly full as a stomach would after the perfectly balanced gastrononic feast. I am grateful to the One who gives all good gifts: for we have received so many :-)
