Spring has sprung - and we grabbed the opportunity to go backpacking (SA translation: hiking) along the famous Highway 1 coastline. If there ever was a perfect outdoor experience: this was it! Not too hot so as to burn, not too cold at night. Gentle sea breeze. Babbling brooks. Vistas from start to finish: coastline, and redwood forests! Have a look and imagine breathing much... much... slower :-)

The California Poppy... the state flower you know.
Looks like Boulders or Clifton to me... but still gorgeous! Our drive along Highway 1 when we visited CA was the highlight of the trip for me. N
