ouch!
Tegwyn likes things clean. She will stop eating a popsicle because one drip fell on her leg, and say "mess, mess, mess" until I wipe it off. She picks up things off the floor and declares them to be "tash (trash). yucky."
This morning, as I lay on the couch watching her play, she came up to me and surveyed my 2 day old under arm hair. Pointing and poking she cried: "Mommy! Mess!"

Bronwyn, this is HILARIOUS. Thank you for sharing. It gave me a good good laugh.
ROFL!! Out of the mouths of babes and infants, eh? Prepare yourself for more. Once it starts, they only get worse... or better (depending on your view point).
Then they start to hold you accountable for the fact that your moral standards are not black and white - e.g. why is okay for YOU to smack a naughty dog, but not them? (Umm... maybe because you my dear darling smack at any time of the day or night, and not when the dog has actually done something naughty???)
Or why is it okay for YOU to have a long turn watching TV, but not them? (Umm.. maybe because TV before age 5 damages brain development, and I'm so WAY past 5 that my brain is already fried, whereas you are still WAY below 5... and maybe it's just because I SAY SO?? Now go away and annoy the dog so I can watch my soapie in peace....)
LOL! I don't think you will have a problem asking her to clean up after herself or her room in the future! =)
Hope you managed to retain your sense of humour at the time, because this is really funny, and augers well for the future - as long as she can get some balance and learn to enjoy mudpies at some stage too. xx
