483 days
Today was a great day. Teg slept well. We played with friends at the Davis Raptor Center. We enjoyed the beautiful spring weather. We did some shopping. A normal, fun-with-Teg kind of day.
But today was also a different day. It was the first complete day of weaning. After 483 days of breastfeeding, today was the first day with no nursing whatsoever. We were ready for it. Teg and I both did fine :-) But I still feel a little sense of loss at yet another thing that reminds me that my baby isn't a baby anymore. She really, really is becoming a little girl.
So goodbye breastfeeding. And hello to a whole new set of things that come with toddlerhood: hello discipline. hello new words. hello running. hello singing. Wow: it's all going so fast.
Here are a few pics to give you a taste of our sweet life (and sweet kiddo) at the moment :-)
Learning how to play the piano with Mommy:

Learning how to brush teeth: (tee! tee! tee! she cries. Long may her enthusiasm for dental hygiene last!)

Taking long walks and enjoying the little birdies...

... and the gorgeous spring blossoms...

Farmer Tegwyn? Teg LOVES this tractor. Loves it. Can't reach the pedals. But loves it anyway.

... and now for the close-up to show you just how much she loves it :-)
(Hint - try to imagine the volume and pitch of a kiddo song from this mouth - E-I-E-I....)

Hi there Bronwyn
Thanks for your congrats! We are doing really well so far - Adam feeds and sleeps and hardly cries. You'd never know we have a newborn around! Teg is looking so cute. Hope we'll get to meet her one day.
Impressive breastfeeding run! I managed 6 months and 8 months but this time will be longer I think. The price of formula has rocketed!
Miss you as always
love Kate
You almost made me want to count how long I nursed Luke. Almost.
Wonderful Tegwyn shots, as usual. She is gorgeous.
