VBC Day 1

So I taught my first ever 3rd grade bible class... and it was okay. Not great. Not terrible. But it was okay: I got out of it alive, none of the kids cried or acted out in any significant way, and they seemed to be listening while I was telling them the story of Jesus healing the 10 lepers (but only one said thanks)... so I guess I should say "mission accomplished".

But since I spent the morning teaching these kiddos that "Jesus gives us the power to be thankful", I did some thinking about things I am thankful for:

* Stellar sleeping by Teg today: 10 hours in a row last night, and 2 long naps today with no crying at all. So what if she woke up at 5:30am this morning? The rest of the sleeping is awesome!
* A husband who makes me laugh out loud. I shaved my legs this weekend and was making him admire my "shiny shins". His reply: "no hair on your shinny-shin-shins!" ROFL.
* Air-conditioning. It may not be the best a/c in the world... but last week is was 111F (44C) outside, and it was NOT that temperature in my house. I am thankful.
* Popsicles, especially mango-pomegranate ones. See comments on outside temperatures above.
* Glasses: I would be so lost if I lived in bible times and had my short-sighted, astigmatic vision.
