Meditations

I have learned so much about God in these few weeks of being a parent. Being the perfect Father, how much more does he not:

* care for us, even when we're unaware of His care ("Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me." Isaiah 49:15-16)

* know how to comfort us (Isaiah 66:10-11)

* know what we need, even when we don't know how to ask (Psalm 139:4; Romans 8:26)

* delight in our delight, and enjoy our discovery of the world

* burst with joy when we look to Him in recognition and smile.

I am learning from Teg many things about the way that God loves me. His grace is so much more apparent to me now. I know that I will not love my daughter any more than I do now when she is older, more independent, and can do more 'stuff'... Would that I realized more often that God doesn't love us more the more 'able' we become! He loves us now as he did in "infancy", with complete dedication and care. Amazing!!!!
