Snapshots from the last week...

Well... we made it! Welcome Week is over - the school year has begun! I am too tired to write much in detail about the past 2 weeks - so here's the precis version, with a few photos to add commentary:

* Met about 200 new students (personally!!!)
* Ran 7 events in 8 days on campus...
* Fed about 300 people during the course of these events...
* Sent about 150 e-mails... at least...
* Learned a lot about stepping out in faith...
* Still got to go to a wedding and hang out with my marvelously sweet and supportive husband (who, himself, started teaching a new class and did a presentation on his PhD progress thus far last week... and did I mention that he kept me fed, and the house clean?)

And here are a few of the photos:

An action shot during the scavenger hunt

Passing out water bottles and flyers on campus to invite students to events

On bible study leaders' retreat, playing a game of "Would you rather"... Here, I am demonstrating that I would rather have my fingers nibbled on by a cannibal than be poked in the eye with a sharp stick. (Seriously, those were my choices!)

Welcome lunch at church...
Student and staff leaders go kayaking on retreat...

The amazing service project group: on Saturday we headed to a local home for abused/foster kids and helped clean their premises and re-vamp their art room... It was a blast!

At Max and Monica's wedding :-) Happy days in the midst of chaos...
