Mountain Top Experiences

We hiked over a couple of snowfields, myriads of mosquitos, through snowmelt streams, over rocks, cinder ash and up a STEEP incline to reach Mt Lassen's summit. We rediscovered why mountain top experiences are called 'mountain top experiences': the reward of the big climb being the crisp cool air and 360 degrees of breathtaking vista: from Mt Shasta 80 miles away seeming close enough to touch, Lake Almanor sparkling below, and a volcanic landscape stretching away in every direction. It makes me think how fitting it was that God should look down after all his work of creating and declare that it was, indeed, "good"....
