Kuyashisa!!
I remember very few words from my years of speaking Zulu - but this one stuck: Kuyashisa! It means "HOT!"
How appropriate. Today marks the 9th day in a row of 40deg C (102F ) plus temperature in Davis. Saturday was a record 111F. We were in the mountains escaping the heat... but our plants did not. When we returned last night the WHOLE house (the walls, the linen, the floors, the phone, EVERYTHING) was 38 degrees - HOTTER than blood! Kuyashisa!

i finally found your blog a coupla weeks ago, but never had the time to actually check it out...
i like this one.
it's been hot here too - 32 deg C or so. You can imagine the plants...
luckily it's cooled down a lot since then. Summer is definitely on its way
