A big small world
It took us a little under 2 days to cover the 20 000kms to get from California to Cape Town. An energetic bird, flying straight, could cover it in 16 644kms (10 222 miles)... and yet it's a small world after all!
We organized a "reunion" for Friday, and were introduced to one of our friends' new fiancee here in Cape Town. It turns out I had read a postcard written by her on a mutual friend's fridge in Sacramento about a year ago... (Thanks Stan & Amanda! We've now met Lisa!)
The longer I live, the more I believe that there are only 6 degrees of separation!
(p.s. we are having a wonderful time at home: the sun has been shining, we have seen so many friends, it's wonderful to be able to give my mom a real hug, and we even got our visas renewed relatively painlessly!)
