Fireworks

For me, fireworks are a little like thunderstorms - they make me feel like I'm seven, and clapping my hands with glee. Last night, the city of Davis had its annual "celebrate Davis" event, where every small business owner (and every Mary Kay consultant in town!) had a little stall peddling their wares. There were ancient hippie drummers belting out a croaky "Billy Jean is not my lover" ... and now I know why they paid Michael Jackson so much to sing it in the first place ;-)

But the highlight was the fireworks display. These are a few (paltry) attempts to catch some of the excitment... Try to imagine big bangs of gunpowder while you look...

Thanks for the pics! Despite living IN DAVIS, I was only able to enjoy (?) the booming sounds of fireworks as my tiny tot was sleeping soundly. I should have scurried up to your perch on the roof, Bron.

Jeremy and I actually wondered what the view would have been like from the roof... perhaps we should do an experiment on July 4th?
