The joy of letters
Teg goes through a lot of paper. As in, she has used a ream in the past three months. Initially it was for art, but since she has started school she has developed an appetite for writing.
I confess I am sometimes irritated by the sheer volume of white sheets that flutter and clutter every working surface of the house, but when I pause to appreciate each one, I love this little girl more and more.
Every day when I pick her up from school, she whips out a sealed envelope for e from her backpack. Often it's out before we're even in the car. Every day, the letter inside says " I love mama". I treasure this. Here are some this weeks offerings:
Lately she has also been making zoo tickets for the whole family. They all look the same, each personalized with our names. Here's a zoo pass:
But today I found some other rare treasures I had not seen before with the sweetest glimpses into Teg's inner life. A picture of her first day at school:
And a letter (of sorts) saying "I love me and my friends. tegwyn and callum. By charis and Alefa (aletheia) ar(e) mi friends. Love me."
And this little schedule detailing where everyone in the family is: " tegwyn go too sool. Mom Callum Declan go too te zoo. Dada go too wc." She feels quite sorry for the boys and I that we do not have somewhere to go "on days that don't start with S", as she calls week days. I guess the zoo was a consolation prize for us?
Sweet, sweet girl!!

Delightful.
Noah was motoring though paper like that too (some of his offerings I will keep, some take pics of and toss), but just this week I decided to get some dry-erase boards and an assortment of colored pens. In one week, we've saved at least 2 trees.
