In the garden

I learned an incredible thing this week. Did you know that cut tulips will actually continue to grow in the vase? Fresh cut tulips get taller... noticeably so... in your house! We got some lovely tulips for Callum's dedication and at first I was lamenting that I didn't have the right size vase for them - but they quite literally grew into it within a few days.

Amazing. Amazing. God's creation is amazing.

But that's just the praise-impetus inside my house. When I step outside, I am finding wonder upon wonder as blooms appear overnight! I am in awe of how quickly these beauties arrive. This is our first Spring in this house, so each of these flowers is like a surprise present - I had no idea what treasures 'lay beneath' in the depths of winter.

From the most delicate of pink roses:

To the sunset bloom which lasts less than 48 hours - but OH! What a marvelous 48 hours they are:

To the delicate orange blossoms which make our garden smell like a Spanish villa:

To the wondrous workers within the blossoms:

To the 'mystery bulbs' with their cerise frills (I don't know what they are - they're one of the bulbs my Mom planted just before Callum was born)

To the majestic irises unfolding below (did you even know that irises came in this colour?)

Our God is a gardener, that's for sure. More meditations on life in the garden to come - but for now, there's just rapturous wonder.

Absolutely beautiful. (And great photography, by the way.) Inspires me to take pictures of our weeds. We have a whole selection of them.
