This week....
It occurs to me that I haven't sent out a newsletter in over 4 months. I think that's the longest gap in letters since we moved to the US. Sorry, dear readers, for the silence. I have made a few mental attempts this week to start compiling what I will put in the newsletter - but this week the minutiae of life are completely outweighing the Grand Scheme Of Things thoughts.
So here's a mini-news feed from this week, with the good, the bad and the ugly of minutiae.
Good: (great actually) I finagled a yes out of my Dad to come and visit us, and more importantly to get to meet Teg properly (he last saw her when she was 9 weeks old). He arrives in a month. YEAH!!!
Bad: Bone/hip/pelvic pain related to pregnancy has been very painful. I will not be giving Teg any more "running pushes" on the swings.
Ugly: I reversed (backed into) a LARGE texan-style truck and managed to put several inches worth of triangular dent into our car. I have cleared a fabulous opening for the boot (trunk) to catch water now that the winter rains are on their way. I'm feeling overwhelmingly embarrassed and broke.
Good: (great actually) Teg has had some wonderful moments of sweetness this week. Things she has said this week include: "I happy" (my favourite!), "hi baby bruvva. lovvies" (while hugging my stomach), "Daddy's socks. I found it! I help you." (helping Daddy get his shoes on in the morning) "Yay church! my church! Yay nursery!" (this on the way to church on Sunday - which is greatly encouraging to a parent who may feel any kind of guilt about putting her kiddos in child care :-)
Bad: Our phone bill. Yikes.
Ugly: Our garden, after last weeks' torrential rain. All our corn, beans and squash plants are lying supine in the soil. No more crops from them, I guess. And I'm too sore and tired to clear it up... so they're just lying there doing the slow compost thing.
Good: Jeremy is making great progress on the final stages of his thesis. We are encouraged!
Bad: This means a LOT of editing. Which I will be helping with. This, on top of teaching WOW, makes time very precious.
Ugly: Can't think of any more uglies. The week has actually been good... and I'll close with one last good which I wanted to include but didn't have a bad or an ugly to go with it: Teg and I made finger puppets today: the first craft activity we have really done together. We decorated toilet paper rolls with googly eyes and colored pens - SUCH fun, and she did such a great job! My little girl is growing up.
Time to get back to that editing.
Over and out for now....

Thanks for the newsletter! I enjoy reading it very much!
I hope the pain you feel will subside soon, and that Jeremy will make some remarkable progress on his thesis before the end of the year!
Hi Bron,
Think I forgot to ask to be kept on your newsletter list...oops! Hope we can still make it on...love reading all the news of the Leas in US of A! Sorry to hear of the pelvic pain...hope it gets a little better and not a lot worse! Love from us Tubmans
Sorry you're sore; I had it too. One good thing is that it meant I couldn't shop for long so I didn't spend much money!! Cute puppets. I'm impressed!
