Sound bytes
Strangely, though, when I try to think of what it was that I spent all day laughing at, it's hard to remember. So here's my attempt to record some of the sound-bytes which had me laughing this weekend:
* of scallions: "no like it. tatyou (thank you)."
* with enormous eyes, of the boa constrictor she saw in the park: "look! snake. ssssss. big snake."
* to her little friend Charis who came to play while Teg was in the corner on a time-out: "Mine! My time out!"
* of the grape she dropped in her car seat: "hup! (help)... (pause)... I got it! I eat it! yum."
* to me, about 20 times in the course of one morning (after hearing it once when I dropped cereal all over the floor): "darn it". Oh dear.
* of my attempt to taste her frozen yoghurt without asking: "oh no. mine."
* to her knee: "owie (ouch). *kissing sound*. all bella (better)."
* of my flowers: "oooooo. pink woses. p(r)etty." Leans over to touch and
Teg often comes running through the house to announce some great change in the status quo (a tower has fallen! a book has been found! bernie the bear is going to jump off the couch!) and will call "mommy, mommy, mommy, come! come! look!" I usually reply with "what happened, my baby?" So you can imagine how I howled with laughter this weekend when she came tearing through the house and announced: "Mommy! Daddy! HAPPENED!!!!" Definite sound byte of the weekend.
