The gospel according to Tegwyn

We have a kids' bible, which Teg calls her "bible tory book". She likes to page through it ("one page at time", she says) and comment on the pictures. She particularly likes the accounts of creation and the flood (lots of animal pictures in both - the contrast in drama is lost on her). Lately, she has also been into the story of the widow's offering in the temple: it's the "moneybox tory". Guess who has been practicing putting coins in a jar.

But there are two stories which Teg loves, and I love why she loves them.

First, the final vignette in the book is a summary of Revelation and ends with a picture of Jesus promising "I will come back soon". Teg looks at the picture and says, in an uncannily Schwarzenegger-esque way, "Right back!"

Secondly, she has just discovered the parable of the Good Samaritan. She was distressed to see the man lying on the side of the road, with "owwies" on his arms and legs. I explained that this was a story Jesus told us about how we should help anyone who needs our help. I asked her what help this man needed. "Band-Aid", she replied. And wouldn't you know it, on the next page, there is a picture of the man on the Samaritan's donkey WITH A BAND-AID ON his knee! It even has the padded center bit with the air-holes for breathing. Hardly very 1st century, but Teg was delighted. In her world, the man's owwies were appropriately addressed. "All bella" (all better), she declared.

Amen, sister.

And then, a few pictures, all taken today while at home, in the car, and at the park with her little friend Katie.

Very cute Bible-story stories. She is precious.

I love the photo of her lounging in the baby seat! So funny.

We sure miss you guys. It has been way too long. We are finally over the head-cold thing that the boys suffered through all week. Are we done being sick yet? :-)

Look forward to seeing you sometime soon, I hope!
