Little Miss Chatterbox
One of my favourite things to do as a little girl was to look at the stuff from my early childhood which my Mom had kept. Photos and early artworks were great, but my favourite was to read the list of things that I could say at different ages. I used to call elephants "imps" (go figure?!?!) - and my Mom wrote it down on a list which entertained me for years afterwards.
I should keep similar lists for Teg. I was waiting until she had a bit of a vocabulary to start this list, but today I realised that she already has quite a couple of things under her belt. So here goes: the first Pooky vocab list!
1) daddy (not dada, "dah-dee", beautifully pronounced)
2) mama
3) no-no (see previous post)
4) nana (banana)
5) maw-nee (morning)
5) hi-yee (hi, which she uses as a greeting, and is also her word for telephone... on which she sees us say "hi"??)
6) ah-duh (all done, accompanied with frantic hand waving ... her version of the sign language to show she's finished eating). She said 'dun' once. Maybe that was a fluke.
7) moo (moose, as in the small fluffy christmas moose we have under the tree)
8) oo-oo (monkey: which makes the sounds oo-oo aah-aah)
9) money (monkey) She really likes the monkey.
10) behn (bernie, her bear)
11) roy-ee (rory, her lion)
12) boh or doh (ball)
13) doh woo woo (a dog -woof woof - or a fish ??)
14) lay (laeya - a friend)
15) di-duh (diaper)
16) bubba (bubba, which is what we call babies)
17) uh-oh (uh-oh... as in anything which falls)
18) nuh-nuh (nurse - as in asking for milk, accompanied by sign for milk)
As you can see, the stuffed animals are the winners in terms of learning names. Here's a short clip of Teg giving us an animated breakfast speech - can you work out what she wants?

Well, she has quickly caught up in vocabulary abilities to my little engineer, Luke! :)
"Bahbahbahbahbah..." She is definitely one little, adorable chatterbox! I wonder from which side of her family she inherited this trait? =)
