A boring class, and a wonderful list
This week is going v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y. Work is dead quiet (the week lull between finals being done, and summer school starting - so there are NO students in town). And Jeremy is away. So I have hours and hours of not-much to fill each day.
But today I got to fill some of those hours with my first official pregnancy class. For the most part, it was tiresomely boring. It is supposed to be for 0-6 months, but it really should be a first trimester class as it deals with basic nutrition, morning sickness etc. There was one really great part though: the educator had size-and-weight-accurate dolls of embryos at different stages, and I got to hold a 20 week one. It filled my whole hand, and was heavy. I can't believe there's a baby of that size inside me already!
Getting to see a little life-size model of Pip was a definite 'high', and then a friend sent me this wonderful list of 'natural highs'. Each one of these makes me smile:
1. Being in love.
2. Laughing so hard your face hurts.
3. A hot shower.
4. No queues at the supermarket.
5. Taking a drive on a pretty road.
6. Hearing your favorite song on the radio.
7. Lying in bed listening to the rain outside.
8. Hot towels fresh out of the dryer.
9. Chocolate milkshake ... (or vanilla ... Or strawberry!)
10. A bubble bath.
11. Giggling.
12. A good conversation.
13. Finding a $20 note in your coat from last winter.
14. Running through sprinklers.
15. Laughing for absolutely no reason at all.
16. Having someone tell you that you're beautiful.
17. Accidentally overhearing someone say something nice about you.
18. Waking up and realizing you still have a few hours left to sleep.
19. Making new friends or spending time with old ones.
20. Having someone play with your hair.
21. Sweet dreams.
22. Making eye contact with a cute stranger.
23. Holding hands with someone you care about.
24. Running into an old friend and realizing that some things(good or bad) never change.
25. Watching the expression on someone's face as they open a much-desired present from you.
26. Getting out of bed every morning and being grateful for another beautiful day.
27. Knowing that somebody misses you.
28. Getting a hug from someone you care about deeply.
29. Knowing you've done the right thing, no matter what other people think.
Isn't that a great list?

I miss Jeremy too, but I must selfishly admit that it has been truly wonderful to get so much extra time with you myself! I like you alot. I think you are beautiful. While I am not a stranger, I am cute and will make eye contact with you--but that's not what the list meant. :) It is a sweet list and it made me smile. I would add: Being able to make the best out of a week without your hubby, then getting him back. Hopefully he will be feeling much better when he gets home.
Cool list!! Thanks for sharing!
