Women of Faith
I knew it! I always suspected that Dr Phil was a Christian!
This I discovered yesterday while at the Sacramento Women of Faith conference, along with 13000 other women. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was wonderfully surprised. The line up of speakers included a number of grannies who tempered life experience with wonderful humour and a deep joy in Christ, as well as spectacular actress Nicole Johnson and Robin McGrath (Dr Phil's wife)... and of course, at the end, just as she has walked him off stage hundreds of times, he came to do the same for her.
But celebrity-spotting aside: what a joy to be there. How incredible to be reminded again and again that whatever life throws at you: spina biffida, agoraphobia, loneliness, cancer - we can know calmness in the storm, and joy in the pain if we know the God who is there.
