A snow day in a sunny suburb

Well if we couldn't get up to the snow this year... the snow would have to come to us. And so, at 5:30am this morning, J and a group of most marvelous Dads headed up to the mountains and brought back two trucks full of SNOW for our little ones to frolic in... in suburbia:

Snowmen were the first order of business (note Callum with a shovel in one hand and snack trap in the other):

Handsome guys surveying their handiwork (present, but not visible in the picture, is the snacktrap):

A small grassy mound was transformed into the perfect toddler and preschooler sized toboggan ramp (and what is Callum doing? why yes! fishing for a snack...):

Although not all the runs went smoothly (note Callum about to faceplant into the snow, yet STILL hanging onto his snack trap. He must have superglued it to his little fist):

Great sadness after the fall:

But great joy at finding a FIRE TRUCK to play with soon afterwards. Yet another one of the perks of having snow days in a friend's back yard!

Thanks, B, for a (rare) family shot!

Happy Presidents Day!!!

Oh my! How cute is Callum in the photos! Great to see everybody, especially the little ones, enjoying the rare occasion of having snow day in Davis!
