Right under our noses
We have lived in Davis for 6 1/2 years, and driven over the bypass between Davis and Sacramento dozens of times... but today for the first time, we drove under it. And we marveled. What a FUN, fun afternoon: listening to birds, watching the gorgeous early spring clouds, making shapes out of the end-of-the-day shadows. What a wonderful world God has made! (warning: lots of photos coming... but we took 281 - NOT KIDDING - these really are just the smallest selection)
Trying to walk in the too-big-rain-boots:
getting pebbles out of perfectly-fitting-rainboots:
swinging and smooching:
snuggling and laughing:
lots of flocks of birds:
some magnificent solo duck flights:
Our son, entranced with the birds overhead:
HAPPY kiddos:
Happy Mama watching the reflection of the sun and clouds over the wetlands:
venturing to the waters' edge:
even weedy-looking plants can be pretty if you photograph them against an azure sky:
While we were watching the setting sun, Teg discovered herself (or at least her shadow) getting taller and taller. We spent a hilarious few moments watching her unawares while she made silly shadow shapes to entertain herself:
By this time, we were laughing out loud and she realized she had an audience:
Aack! Too close! But we look happy anyway. We'll call it "intense happiness":
The heavens declare the glory of God!

I've lived in Davis for 25 years and have never done it, so don't feel bad. :-) LOVE the photos. Stunning!
