A sleeping baby is a happy baby

Well, I don't know whether 3 weeks and 5 days was a "magic developmental milestone", or whether some desperate prayers were heard, or if, somehow, we stumbled on a magic trick...

... but all of a sudden our child seems to have stopped crying. Not totally of course - but the hours of desperate, inconsolable shrieking with cat-like sounds seems to have ended. For the past 3 nights she has slept for more than 12 hours (with snacking breaks in the middle - but she does those in her sleep dream-feeding style). And she's fussing a lot less during the day. And cooing and gurgling a lot more. And smiling even - which melts hearts all round! (I'll try and catch a photo of that soon)

A sleeping baby is definitely a happier baby. And I am a SO MUCH HAPPIER Mommy for it. I had heard that 6 weeks was the "magic number" for baby happiness, but (touch wood) perhaps I am getting an early Christmas present of 2 weeks' reprieve?

I think the magic number is 12 pounds... has little Teg reached her 12 pound birthday? :)

nope... I'm guessing she's closer to the 9 1/2 lbs mark... if she's really fattening up then maybe 10?

She's no good at day naps though... seems perpetually alert and awake (but not that unhappy though...)
