How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
5 days ago, my friend Maria was killed in a car accident. I am so sad, but also so joyful - knowing full well that Maria is with the Lord, and more alive today than she has ever been. It makes me laugh to remember all the times I nagged her to get health insurance, and how she would shrug and smile, saying "Ag Bronnie, the Lord knows".
I am so grateful to have known her. She was unexpected, bursting with life. She was almost reckless in the way she lived with such vibrancy. Her hair was always bouncing and her eyes shining. There wasn't a day I saw Maria when she would not tell me of God's goodness. She knew and loved the Lord Jesus, and served Him well.
I have had the words to the "sound of music" in my head for days in her honour:
"She climbs a tree and scrapes her knee,
Her dress has got a tear.
She waltzes on her way to mass,
And whistles on the stair...
...I'd like to say a word on her behalf,
Maria makes me laugh...
How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibberjit! A will-o-the-wisp! A clown!..
Oh, how do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?"
I can't wait to see her again.

It's such a blessing to know a person who moves you and enriches your understanding of the Kingdom. I bet there are more than a few people who would say you do that for them. Your confidence in the face of this loss has been an encouragement. I look forward to meeting this wonderful sister some day.
