First "luna"-versary
It's been a month since my first blog post. This is my 8th - an average of one post every 3 3/4 days. I am not sure who I am writing for. For me, to try something new. For me, to practice writing. For my family, in case they want more than a monthly update. For friends who are more interested in my eclectic thoughts and observations than my news. For the world out there - just to have "had my say" and nailed my colours to the mast. And again for me - as a kind of journalling experience.
This has been a busy week, unconducive to reflection or profundity. Here are some of the highlights though:
- Celebrating a reunion with the mission team who joined me in South Africa in August. We dined on authentic ethnic cuisine: potjiekos!
- Seeing my 3 1/2 year old friend Abby in the playground: she seemed so pleased to see me that she did a drum roll with sticks on a near-by pole. It felt like a standing ovation.
- Having Jeremy be wonderfully caring and sweet while I was feeling a bit groggy with a headcold.
Roll on weekend :-)
