It's just not true

Several months ago a jolly man with a clipboard knocked on our front door. He had 'noticed' that we had a DSL connection, but no cable TV... and wondered if he could tell us about some great cable bundles. I smiled sweetly and said "thanks, but we don't watch TV." The poor man literally sputtered: I gather he doesn't get that response too often.

But I think I need to re-think my smug reply. It's just not true that we don't watch TV. We don't get any channels at home, don't have an antenna and don't have cable... but between DVDs, nbc.com and downloadable netflix movies - we watch plenty of TV. We have watched 24, the office, monk, friends, seinfeld, scrubs, gray's anatomy, ballykissangel... and watched the beginnings of alias, house and a few others. So I guess we do watch TV. What we don't watch... is commercials :-)

Oh yes! I DO watch TV shows, but just not on TV these days! I recently discovered "The Alfred Hitchcock Hours" on nbc.com, and I know I'll be re-visiting the site this summer!
